The YouCut project is pleased to present our latest video news release, “Obama’s Endgame: A Look at the National Debt,” which takes a look at the debt crisis facing this country. To be clear, this is not a typical web video – this is an in-depth analysis of the impact of the national debt upon our nation’s future and the government’s actions over the past two years.

America is at a critical crossroads, and the path we take will determine the kind of country we want to be. Our country is facing serious challenges; this video is a serious and substantive look at the crisis of generational debt being created by government today.

From the Obama’s Chicago Network site:<dir>Obama’s Chicago Network brings the hottest, most drama-filled political intrigue to a national audience. President Obama brought to the White House both seasoned actors of the Chicago Way Rahm Emanuel, Valerie Jarrett, and David Axelrod, and fresh new faces Robert Gibbs and Jim Messina.

Apparently, being asked if you support the Obama agenda is a touchy subject — probably because doing so could cost a Democrat his or her seat in the November 2010 elections.

In this video, Congressman Bob Etheridge (D – North Carolina) first appears to push away the video camera of one of two students who dare to ask — on a public sidewalk — about Etheridge’s support of President Barack Obama’s agenda. Etheridge then grabs and holds one of the students by the arm and refuses to let go. Once he finally lets go of the student’s arm, Etheridge grabs the student by the neck and then around the back and shoulder.

While any Congressman who has voted in favor of Obama’s agenda has much to answer for, embarrassment is not a valid reason for an adult to assault a student — even one with a video camera. Perhaps Rep. Etheridge was never taught to “just walk away.”

UPDATE: At least Congressman Etheridge had the good sense to apologize:<dir>Washington, DC, Jun 14 – U.S. Rep. Bob Etheridge (D-Lillington) released the following statement on the viral video which appeared on the internet today:

“I have seen the video posted on several blogs. I deeply and profoundly regret my reaction and I apologize to all involved. Throughout my many years of service to the people of North Carolina, I have always tried to treat people from all viewpoints with respect. No matter how intrusive and partisan our politics can become, this does not justify a poor response. I have and I will always work to promote a civil public discourse.”

Below is the text from the latest YouCut project update from Rep. Eric Cantor:<dir>The YouCut citizen movement is making a difference – across the country and inside the Capitol. We have heard from over 520,000 voices putting Washington on notice that now is the time to get spending under control.

Rep. Michele Bachmann offered this week’s winning cut on the House Floor; an amendment to eliminate a pay raise for federal government employees – including right here in the Capitol – saving the taxpayers over $30 billion.

The Democrats gaveled it down from the Speaker’s chair, shutting down debate. The reason the Democrat Majority gave? It would prevent federal workers on Capitol Hill from getting a pay raise, so it could not be considered. That is literally the reason they gave. It is astounding, and an affront to every small businessperson and struggling family across this country.

The up-or-down vote was clear, the majority in the U.S. House voted to allow pay raises for non-military federal employees, while the rest of the country is facing pay cuts. Click here to see where each Representative stood on this vote.

By forcing YouCut votes, backed with your support, we are beginning to change the culture here in Washington. We will not stop until we have brought spending under control.

The next five cuts are already posted on the YouCut website. Many of the items were submitted – including this week’s winner – by people just like you, who want to see Washington halt its runaway spending.

You are making your voice heard loud and clear in your nation’s capital – together, we are making history.

Regards,

Eric Cantor
House Republican Whip

From POLICITO.com:<dir>Rep. Joe Sestak, winner of the Pennsylvania Democratic Senate primary, is refusing to provide more information on what job he was offered by a White House official to drop of that race, although he confirmed again that the incident occurred.

The White House was backing incumbent Sen. Arlen Specter (D-Pa.) in the primary. Sestak acknowledged in an interview in February that he was offered a position by an unnamed White House official – a potential violation of federal law – but has not offered any specifics on conversation. Republicans are trying to use the issue against Sestak in the November Senate race.

“It’s interesting. I was asked a question about something that happened months earlier, and I felt that I should answer it honestly, and that’s all I had to say about it.” Sestak said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” “Anybody else has to decide on what they will say upon their role. That’s their responsibility.”

Yet Sestak confirmed to NBC’s David Gregory that the incident did take place.

“I was offered a job, and I answered that,” Sestak said. “Anything that goes beyond that is for others to talk about.”</dir>

Let’s not forget that humor can be a much more powerful weapon than vitriol. More messages like this about not only Obama, but Democrats in general, will do wonders to expose their incompetence and undermine their credibility come November. And a catchy tune (or witty slogan) stays on the brain better than talking points.

Though he campaigned with the inclusive-sounding slogan of “Yes we can,” Barack Obama and the Democrats seem to have taken on a new slogan: “Yes, we can… do whatever the heck we want. And we don’t need you.” This past week, they unilaterally shoved ObamaCare down the throats of the American people, despite attempts by Republicans to save the country from the Dems’ massive power grab.

Today, the Times of London is reporting that an arrogant President Obama feels he can ride roughshod over the United States’ relationship with Israel. Earlier this week, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was at the White House for talks about current Middle East tensions and new Israeli settlements in east Jerusalem. When Netanyahu did not meet Obama’s demand of concessions, the President rudely walked out of the meeting with the longtime US ally. Excerpts from the story are below:<dir>For a head of government to visit the White House and not pose for photographers is rare. For a key ally to be left to his own devices while the President withdraws to have dinner in private was, until this week, unheard of. Yet that is how Binyamin Netanyahu was treated by President Obama on Tuesday night, according to Israeli reports on a trip viewed in Jerusalem as a humiliation.

After failing to extract a written promise of concessions on settlements, Mr Obama walked out of his meeting with Mr Netanyahu but invited him to stay at the White House, consult with advisers and “let me know if there is anything new”, a US congressman, who spoke to the Prime Minister, said.

“It was awful,” the congressman said. One Israeli newspaper called the meeting “a hazing in stages”, poisoned by such mistrust that the Israeli delegation eventually left rather than risk being eavesdropped on a White House telephone line. Another said that the Prime Minister had received “the treatment reserved for the President of Equatorial Guinea”.

Robert Gibbs, the White House press secretary,… did not deny claims that it amounted to a dressing down for the Prime Minister.</dir>

The number of states ready to sue over Obamacare continues to rise. Arguing that it is unconstitutional, the attorney general of Virginia also announced this morning that he will sue if President Obama signs the massive healthcare bill into law. Excerpts from the Reuters report are below:<dir>Virginia’s attorney general [Kenneth Cuccinelli] said he plans to sue the federal government over the healthcare reform legislation, saying Congress lacks authority to force people to buy health insurance.

He said the bill also conflicts with a state law that says Virginians cannot be required to buy insurance.

“If a person decides not to buy health insurance, that person by definition is not engaging in commerce,” Cuccinelli said in recorded comments. “If you are not engaging in commerce, how can the federal government regulate you?”</dir>

The breaking story is below:<dir>“The health care reform legislation passed by the U.S. House of Representatives last night clearly violates the U.S. Constitution and infringes on each state’s sovereignty,” Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum, a Republican, said in a prepared statement announcing a news conference.

“On behalf of the State of Florida and of the Attorneys General from South Carolina, Nebraska, Texas, Utah, Pennsylvania, Washington, North Dakota, South Dakota and Alabama if the President signs this bill into law, we will file a lawsuit to protect the rights and the interests of American citizens.” [emphasis added]</dir>
