At first, it appeared that the Obama campaign tried to suppress documents of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge in order to keep reporters from exploring the ties between the Democratic candidate and domestic terrorist William Ayers.  The Chicago Tribune is now reporting that when the intial tactic failed, the Obama campaign resorted to an e-mail campaign asking supporters to try and suppress and/or drown out an interview of writer Stanley Kurtz on WGN radio.

Among other things, Kurtz reveals that Obama and William Ayers were much closer than Obama’s original defense that Ayers was merely a guy “from the neighborhood.”  In fact, it appears that the two spent quite a bit of time together and Kurtz’s research exposes some of the policy similarities between Obama and the 60’s radical Ayers.

An unabridged, streaming audio file of the WGN radio interview can be found HERE.  (Click on the Listen Now! right under the section heading.) Even just the first ten minutes of the show are quite enlightening.
